She specializes in Western North American biomes and is currently researching the effects of long-term spiritual habitation on the environment. She is an avid spokesperson for Indigenous rights and a patron of the Wintu Cultural Resource Center and Museum. She has two children, one attending API for electrical engineering and another attending UCLA for psychology specializing in magical trauma.
